December 8, 2006 > Naviance Expands Career Planning Offerings PDF Print E-mail

Naviance is pleased to announce a unique, expanded version of Do What You Are that will greatly enhance a school's comprehensive counseling program. Beginning with a personality inventory, students are directed to possible career fields and can instantly find colleges that offer an educational path to those careers, eliminating the need to use multiple tools to create a complete career plan. The career suggestions that result from taking the Do What You Are assessment now include Department of Labor information such as educational requirements and salary data, and even multimedia presentations describing careers in detail. And, by linking a student's Do What You Are results with the college database in Counselor's Office, part of WorkspaceK12, students will have immediate access to a list of colleges that offer the majors that can lead to particular careers of interest. Plus, the results are fully integrated into WorkspaceK12 for counselors, teachers, and administrators to use in helping students achieve their educational and career objectives. Only Naviance provides a career-planning tool that is this well-integrated into a school's overall course, college, and career advising program.

My counterpart and I both come from Naviance Network schools and it was a plus that Bishop’s was already on board. The students I met [at Bishop's] were pleased that I already used Naviance. I think it gave me some street cred with them!
