This summer, Naviance welcomed Mary Docken, Ricky Mott, and Erin Garland to our team. A past president of Minnesota Association for College Admission Counseling, Mary Docken served as Director of Admission at two colleges in the Midwest before becoming Director of College Counseling at Mounds Park Academy in St. Paul. Ricky Mott was most recently Assistant Director of Admission at University of Northern Colorado and on the executive board of Rocky Mountain Association for College Admission Counseling, and Erin Garland was formerly an admissions counselor for Loyola University New Orleans and a teacher at Archbishop Hannan High School in Louisiana. The extensive school- and college-based experience these recent additions bring reflects the firm commitment to education that's infused into everything we do.

Naviance Supports Horizons-Upward Bound |

Horizons-Upward Bound works with students of limited resources from public schools in the Detroit metropolitan area to prepare them to gain admission to college. Through its unique relationship with Cranbrook Upper School of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, HUB got its first glimpse of the power and potential of Counselor’s Office. Trying to maintain accurate records for, and communication with, students from high schools throughout Detroit is an enormous challenge. "Enter Naviance with its electronic records, its ability to send group e-mails, and Family Connection which provides student access 24-7, and the HUB admissions process changes dramatically for the better," says Sheila McEntee. "Because I have better information to use when advising students, Naviance makes me a more effective college counselor."
