Counselors at Mount Anthony Union High School and Brattleboro Union High School are helping to spread the word about Naviance to their colleagues in Vermont. The Bennington Banner reports that MAU and Brattleboro leading the way with WorkspaceK12. MAUHS counselor Eric Caron states that his students have found Family Connection, part of WorkspaceK12, "incredibly helpful" as they build their post-secondary plans. He particularly likes that Family Connection can help students overcome the financial hurdles of attending college by providing detailed information about local scholarships -- information that often isn't available anywhere else. October 23, 2007 > Norfolk Leads the Way with WorkspaceK12
Public school districts across the U.S. are adapting high schools to ensure all students are college- and workplace-ready. In Southeastern Virginia, Norfolk Public Schools set out on "a journey to be a 'world-class' school district" and adopted WorkspaceK12 to help bring this vision to reality. As Joyce Beamon, Senior Coordinator for NPS writes, "counseling tools and methods of the past are not adequate for student needs of the future," but with WorkspaceK12, "Norfolk Public Schools' counselors will be an integral part" of the district's college- and workplace-readiness efforts. >> top

Fall can be a tense time for high school seniors as The New York Times Magazine reports in "Tense Times at Bronxville High" appearing in its annual college issue. Fortunately families and counselors at Bronxville High School and thousands of other schools across the U.S. and around the world have access to WorkspaceK12 from Naviance. September 24, 2007 > Rural Schools See Benefits of WorkspaceK12
Students in rural schools can sometimes feel like college is a distant possibility -- both literally and figuratively. WorkspaceK12 helps bridge that gap, and increasingly rural schools are relying on WorkspaceK12 as part of a comprehensive approach to college access for their students. This fall Hutchinson High School and Fergus Falls High School, both rural high schools in Minnesota, are using WorkspaceK12 with seniors for the first time. September 17, 2007 > WorkspaceK12 Helps Drive College Access
Naviance began working with the Hamilton County (TN) Department of Education in 2005 supporting the efforts of the College Access Center to improve access to higher education for students throughout the Greater Chattanooga area. The Chattanoogan.com reports that WorkspaceK12 has become an integral part of the district's college access initiative, providing "accurate information about all aspects of the college admissions process." Using WorkspaceK12, schools can collect detailed data about student goals and outcomes, facilitating collaboration among all stakeholders and ensuring that counselors and administrators can measure success. August 30, 2007 > Twin Cities Office Makes Major Impact
Last summer's opening of our office in St. Paul, Minnesota has brought significant success in expanding usage of WorkspaceK12 throughout the Twin Cities and across the midwest. June 27, 2007 > Leading K-12 Researcher Joins Naviance
Naviance is pleased to welcome Faith Connolly, Ph.D., who has been named Vice President of Research & Development. Before joining Naviance Dr. Connolly served most recently as Director of the Department of Shared Accountability for the Montgomery County (MD) Public Schools. In that role Dr. Connolly oversaw applied research, program evaluation, and training activities for one of the nation's largest school systems. Naviance and the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) are pleased to announce a new partnership to support the work of experienced independent educational consultants who comprise IECA's membership. Through this agreement, IECA members will be able to benefit from Counselor’s Office, part of WorkspaceK12 from Naviance, with special enhancements designed to meet the needs specific to consultants’ work. May 18, 2007 > Fairfax County Expands Use of WorkspaceK12
This spring, more than 5,000 students from across the Fairfax County Public Schools used planning and advising tools in Family Connection, part of WorkspaceK12 from Naviance. According to the district, FCPS students use Family Connection to create "a personal plan, generate a record of activities and interests, and explore [postsecondary] educational opportunities ... while reducing the stress and complexity of the college application process." Managing important school data just got easier for students and parents in Virginia’s largest school district.
