Career Planner.
Giving students the opportunity to explore career interests is an important element of effective counseling in middle and high schools. Career Planner from Naviance offers an integrated, age-appropriate approach to career planning. With Career Planner, counselors play a central role helping students to learn more about their interests, abilities, and personality type and how those factors influence potential career paths.
Versions for Middle Schools & High Schools
Career Planner is available in separate versions for middle schools and high schools. At the middle school level, Career Planner uses The Career Key assessment. Tailored specifically for students in grades 6 through 8, The Career Key helps younger students become more self-aware. For high school students, we've integrated the Do What You Are personality assessment directly into Career Planner.
- Search for careers by job title, keyword, and category
- Read about skills, requirements, and wages for nearly 1,000 careers
- Find up-to-date wage data at the national, state, and city levels
- Watch videos for nearly 600 popular careers
- Link directly from career descriptions to colleges offering related majors
- Complete the Career Interest Profiler, based on Holland's interest codes
More than 300 of the career videos are also included in Spanish, which can be especially helpful in schools serving large populations of English Language Learners.
Integrated and Comprehensive
Career Planner integrates directly with Counselor's Office, Course Manager, and the rest of WorkspaceK12 so students and parents see how career decisions relate to course and college planning activities, and counselors can guide and track student progress. Plus, counselors and administrators have access to detailed reports showing the status of students' on-line assessments and the careers they're considering.
