Naviance Summer Institute – 2010 Call for Presentations
The 3rd Annual Naviance Summer Institute 2010 is a three-day forum for our members and is designed specifically to address the needs of administrators, school counselors, advisors and school staff. A broad range of topics will be presented along with opportunities for networking among colleagues and leaders in the profession.
Naviance values your expertise and is excited to offer this Call for Presentations for our upcoming Summer Institute. We are seeking presentations that speak to the Summer Institute Theme – Success is the Journey and the Destination and align with the tracks listed below. Within each track, examples of best practices and case studies showcasing innovative program implementation are also encouraged.
Individual Learning Plans: Provides examples, strategies and ideas of incorporating Naviance Succeed into Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) programs. These programs provide students with individualized instruction and address educational accountability. Additionally, ILPs capture data on student career exploration; course planning, status of graduation requirements, college admissions requirements, post-secondary and career selection.
Best Measures of Student Readiness and Success: Focuses on the use of data to assess student readiness for post-secondary education, evaluate guidance program effectiveness and account for student outcomes.
Career Exploration and Planning: Presents information in the area of career advising and the connection to course selection, curriculum integration and creative career activities for students.
College Search and Decision Making: Provides information on the college advising process, ways to create a college going culture, improving communication with post-secondary institutions and families and enhancing the effectiveness of the school-counseling department.

The Institute will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Minneapolis, which is a short ride from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. More details about lodging and transportation coming soon.
