Hobsons’ Summer Internship Program: Connecting College to Careers
Hear From Hobons’ Summer Interns!

This summer, we welcomed 20 college students to join the Hobsons’ team for the 2019 Summer Internship Program. Students spent 10 weeks working on various projects to support three product lines: Naviance, Intersect, and Starfish. Our Summer Internship Program exemplifies our commitment to supporting student success, along their educational journey. It is our mission come to life within the walls of our Arlington, VA and Cincinnati, OH offices.

Our students come from higher education institutions all over the country with a shared goal to acquire knowledge and experience within potential career fields they are interested in. They are provided the opportunity to significantly contribute to projects aligned to their coursework and career interests. At the end of the 10 weeks, each intern has the opportunity to present their capstone project to their fellow interns, the team they support, and Hobsons’ leadership.

Hobsons’ Summer Internship Program is an opportunity for students to put into practice what they are learning in school; to see first hand how their coursework can translate into a career. Some students found that their internship further validated that they are in the career they want to be in. “I was able to learn that I enjoyed product development and design a lot and that I want to pursue them as I graduate from college,” shared Ariana Mohseni, product management intern and rising senior at the Pennsylvania State University.

While some students discover they were in the right career for them, others discover they want to make a switch; a realization that is just as important to discover. “My experience at Hobsons has impacted my future career aspirations by completely changing what I want to do when I graduate,” shared Emanuel Timbo, cloud operations engineering intern from the University of Pittsburgh. “My original goal was to go into network engineering or cybersecurity, but throughout the summer, I was able to see how much of an impact cloud technology is having in IT,” added Timbo.

We are so proud of the work our interns accomplished this year. Congratulations to all our interns on a job well done and best of luck in all you do!
