To Lunch or Not to Lunch - Results from the 2016 Admissions Road Warrior Survey

Hobsons surveyed college admissions counselors in late 2016 to get their perspective of life on the road.  Road warriors from all over the country provided their insights on high school visits, lunch room visits, interactions with high school counselors and students, as well as travel habits throughout the season. Admissions professionals also provided advice for school counselors who host visits on their campus.

High school counselors may be interested to learn that:

  • Over 60% of high school visits by admissions counselors happen over the lunch period.
  • Two-thirds of admissions counselors report working 9-12 hours per day.
  • Positive interactions with school counselors have an impact on initial and return visits scheduled
